Barriers GG, also written as BarriersGG, is a turn-based online strategy game played on a nine-by-nine board. Each player begins on one edge and tries to reach the opposite edge first. On your turn, you either move one square or place a horizontal or vertical wall. Walls redirect routes but may never remove every legal path to a goal. This simple rule creates meaningful choices: advance now, slow your opponent, protect a corridor, or save a limited wall for a later threat.

Players can jump over an adjacent opponent when the square behind them is open. If a wall blocks the direct jump, a legal diagonal move may become available. The board stays readable, while changing paths make every match different.

Ranked arena, friend matches, and AI challenges

Ranked arena matches pair you with a nearby Elo opponent and record the result on the global leaderboard. Private friend matches can be started through a challenge, room, or invitation link. For practice, three visible AI ratings offer different levels of play without changing your arena score. Replays let you review completed games, create shareable clips, and analyze an eligible match move by move.

Strong play is about more than moving forward. Compare both shortest routes after every turn, measure how many moves a wall actually adds, and avoid spending walls that only look restrictive.
